Our music is straight ahead, traditional blues and Americana. We try to keep it real, our goal is keeping the integrity of real, live, honest blues intact in this era. We try to do our small part to bring the best to our listeners, young and old. We also write our own music, which is Americana/roots, based in the blues. Both of our CDs have many originals written by RW and Beth Grigsby. From Chicago to the West Coast to the Mississippi Delta, jazz, soul, rock and roll, country and folk are all inspirations for our music. We try to pick songs that are obscure, not over-recorded, to bring fresh blues to our audience. Some of my personal inspirations, Leadbelly, Mississippi John Hurt, Dr. John, Marcia Ball, Rosetta Tharpe, Memphis Minnie, Bonnie Raitt, Esther Phillips, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Big Bill Broonzy, Rick Estrin, James Harman, Mark Hummel, Steve Freund.....I could go on and on. My husband and veteran bassist, RW Grigsby and I founded Red's Blues going on six years ago. Named Red’s Blues because of my flaming red hair. We felt there was a need to bring real, traditional, straight ahead Chicago, Delta and West Coast Blues to this region, and we knew we could bring it.
